Toronto FC announced Friday that they have acquired the 25-year-old defender on loan from the North American Soccer Leagues Atlanta Silverbacks, though details of the deal were not disclosed. TFC president and general manager Kevin Payne says he expects Bloom to be part of the teams "nucleus" for the next several years. "Were happy to add Mark Bloom to our team," said Payne is a statement. "(Silverbacks technical director) Eric Wynalda has spoken very highly of him to me, and our scouts also rate him as a very solid player."
