(SportsNetwork.com) - The struggling Philadelphia Flyers will try to get their offense on track Wednesday when they visit the Detroit Red Wings for a clash at Joe Louis Arena. The Flyers have lost five of their last six games, and were held to less than four goals in each of those setbacks. Philadelphia has managed only six goals over its past four tilts and four of those tallies came in Saturdays win against Columbus. Philly was shut out for the second time in four games on Monday, losing a 1-0 shootout decision against the New York Islanders. Steve Mason was the main reason the Flyers werent handed a regulation loss at Nassau Coliseum, as the goaltender kept Philly in the game with a strong performance. The Isles outshot the visitors by a 46-21 margin, but Mason stopped all 46 shots sent his way to record his first shutout of the season in a losing effort. We had a good scout on them and knew what to expect, said Mason. They were as good as advertised. New York was able to get to Mason in the shootout, scoring twice over the three rounds. Frans Nielsen put the first puck past either goaltender with New Yorks second chance, as he buried a wrister past Mason. After Jaroslav Halak turned aside an attempt by Philadelphias Claude Giroux, John Tavares then sealed the victory as he went back and forth before lifting a backhand into the right corner of the net. The Flyers have lost five straight on the road and are just 2-6-1 as the guest this season. Philadelphias last away win was back on Oct. 22, when it recorded a 5-3 triumph in Pittsburgh. Philly has done well against the Red Wings recently, winning three straight and four of the past five meetings in this series. That includes a 4-2 home win over Detroit on Oct. 25 when Ray Emery made 35 saves to anchor a Flyers victory. The Flyers and Red Wings have split the last four encounters in the Motor City. but Philadelphia has a dismal 2-15-1 record with two ties in the past 20 meetings at the Joe. Detroit improved to 7-2-2 at home this season following Mondays close victory over the Ottawa Senators. Stephen Weiss keyed the victory with his best performance in a Red Wings uniform, scoring a pair of goals to help the Red Wings hold on for the 4-3 regulation win over the Sens. The Red Wings had high hopes for Weiss when they signed him to a five-year, $24.5 million deal in the summer of 2013, but things have not gone as planned. The veteran centerman missed much of last season due to a sports hernia and only recorded two goals and two assists in 26 games. Mondays game was only Weiss second tilt this season and first since Oct. 18. He began 2014-15 as a healthy scratch and then suffered a groin injury in his first game of the season. After a recent conditioning stint in the AHL, however, Weiss was able to break into the lineup on Monday when he doubled his career goal total with the Wings. It felt good to be in the lineup and it was nice to get a couple of goals, said Weiss. Gustav Nyquist and Riley Sheahan each had a goal for the Red Wings, while Jimmy Howard stopped 23 shots in the win. The Red Wings, who have won three of their last four games, could get Pavel Datsyuk back on the ice tonight. The star forward has missed the last four games and six of eight tilts overall due to a groin injury. Datsyuk did practice on Tuesday and is questionable for tonights contest. Detroits Brendan Smith is expected to miss a fourth straight game after injuring his hand in last weeks fight with Nick Foligno of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Gary Roberts Jersey . Crawford beat his previous career high of 39 points set against Miami on March, 30, 2011, when he was with Washington. He surpassed it with a runner that put the Warriors ahead for good at 110-108. Randy Foye, who led Denver with 32 points, raced downcourt in response but his finger-roll rimmed out and Golden State corralled the rebound. With 30 seconds left, Barnes sank a free throw and Draymond Green swooped in to tip in his errant second shot, giving the Warriors a 113-108 lead. Crawford and Steve Blake each missed a free throw over the next 14 seconds, giving the Nuggets an opening. Green was whistled for goal-tending on Foyes 3-pointer with seven seconds left but the call was overturned upon review, leaving the Nuggets trailing 115-112. Anthony Randolph tied his season high with 19 points for the Nuggets, who are missing the playoff party for the first time since 2002-03, the year before Carmelo Anthonys arrival. The Warriors are headed to their second straight Western Conference playoffs, again as the No. 6 seed and this time, theyll face the third-seeded Clippers starting Saturday in Los Angeles. With Andrew Bogut out indefinitely and nothing to play for as far as seeding, the Warriors rested their regulars for the playoffs. Guard Klay Thompson was the only starter coach Mark Jackson put in his starting lineup 48 hours after Golden State secured its first 50-win season since 1993-94. Thompson played just eight minutes but his was an efficient cameo with eight points. Green was pressed into duty in the fourth quarter when Hilton Armstrong fouled out. Nuggets coach Brian Shaw had no problem with his counterpart going with a short bench by design, something Denver has had to do out of necessity for much of the season because of a rash of injuries to the likes of Ty Lawson, JaVale McGee, Danilo Gallinari, J.ddddddddddddJ. Hickson and Nate Robinson. "It will be like playing ourselves," Shaw said before tip-off. "Well get to see what its like." The Warriors reserves had fresh legs and continually beat the winded Nuggets downcourt. By halftime, Golden State, despite shooting just 9 of 17 from the foul line, was ahead 66-52 behind 22 points from Barnes and 19 from Crawford. The Nuggets opened the fourth quarter on a 12-2 run to take the lead and give the home crowd something to cheer about. This marked the final game for Nuggets trainer Jim Gillen, who never missed a game or a practice in 23 seasons with the Nuggets. He worked for nine head coaches and four interim coaches, five general managers and nearly 200 players, taping up, by his estimate, 15,000 ankles. Shaw called Gillen the fabric of the franchise. "As a first-year head coach, Ive had to rely on him in so many different situations from his experience and knowledge and know-how from things that we need to get together on, from hotel stays to when we need to get together and practice and how much rest guys need and to even in-game strategy, timeouts at the end of the game and things like that," Shaw said. NOTES: As expected, Lawson (sprained ankle) did not play in the season finale, meaning he missed the last seven games of the season. ... The visiting team won all four games in the season series. ___ Follow AP Sports Writer Arnie Melendrez Stapleton on Twitter: http://twitter.com/arniestapletonAuthentic Bills JerseysDolphins Stitched JerseysCheap Patriots JerseysWholesale Jets JerseysWholesale Texans JerseysCheap Colts JerseysJaguars Jerseys StoreAuthentic Titans JerseysAuthentic Broncos JerseysAuthentic Chiefs JerseysCheap Raiders JerseysChargers Jerseys StoreCheap Ravens JerseysWholesale Bengals JerseysCheap Browns JerseysSteelers Jerseys StoreWholesale Cowboys JerseysWholesale Giants JerseysAuthentic Eagles JerseysCheap Redskins JerseysAuthentic Falcons JerseysPanthers Jerseys StoreWholesale Saints JerseysAuthentic Buccaneers JerseysWholesale Cardinals JerseysCheap 49ers JerseysSeahawks Jerseys StoreWholesale Rams JerseysWholesale Bears JerseysAuthentic Lions JerseysCheap Packers JerseysVikings Jerseys Store ' ' '
